What we Do
The IPMA microalgae and cyanobacteria culture collection specializes in harmful microalgae and cyanobacteria, for example producers of paralytic shellfish toxins, diarrhetic shellfish toxins, ciguatoxins, and other bioactive compounds such as geosmin and limonene. In addition, the collection also maintains non-toxic microalgae used for aquaculture feeding experiments. These resources are held and curated within the phytoplankton laboratory, supported by a highly skilled team with advanced taxonomic expertise.
